Girl, 13, on ganja charge

A 13-YEAR-OLD girl appeared before a San Fernando magistrate yesterday charged with trafficking in marijuana at her secondary school. The girl’s appearance followed the charge against a 14-year-old girl who was taken to the Magistrate’s court in Princes Town on Friday last for a similar offence.

The 13-year old girl appeared yesterday before Senior Magistrate Nanette Forde-John in San Fernando Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to possession of 3.3 grammes of marijuana.

She was charged with trafficking because she was held with the illegal drug inside the school. The magistrate heard from the court prosecutor Sgt Veno Raghoo, that WPC Nicole Medina went to the school to conduct investigations into the discovery of marijuana in the girl’s book bag. The marijuana was found by a school teacher.
