  • Cannabis as a controlled substance: The new bill would undo the work done to remove cannabis as a controlled substance. It also proposes adding cannabis back to the controlled substance list and would create situations where the controlled substances laws would not apply. As pointed out in Dr. Tim Hinterberger’s email, SB30 in its current form “would completely remove marijuana from the Alaska Controlled Substance Act.”

 

  • Limit on daily sales of concentrates: The new draft would limit the sale of concentrates to 5g per day. Why 5gs? Does the state regulate how much alcohol one person can purchase? What the danger in having 5.5g of concentrate? What if you are going camping for a week and you are supplying the cannabis for the camp? So many possibilities, why limit to 5gs? Furthermore, don’t limit consumers to buying one ounce per day. This would require tracking customers, which is prohibited under ballot
