Hayward man arrested in Benicia marijuana investigation
A Hayward man was arrested after 4,859 marijuana plants and three pounds of processed marijuana was found at a warehouse on Stone Road in Benicia Thursday morning.
Thuy Dinh, 34, was taken into custody and arrested by Solano County Detectives after he tried to flee the warehouse through the back door. He was booked into the Solano County Jail for cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, conspiracy to cultivate, distribution of marijuana and resisting arrest.
The Solano County Sheriff's Office said the warehouse was divided into 10 rooms, calling it "a very large and sophisticated marijuana growing and processing operation."
The find was the result of a two month investigation by the Benicia Police Department and Solano County Sheriff's Narcotics Enforcement Team. In January, detectives found 825 marijuana plants and processed marijuana valued at $2.5 million in a warehouse on the same street.
