Cologne city mayor Andreas Hupke demands cannabis clubs

On May 9, the Global Marijuana March pulls through Cologne. City mayor Andreas Hupke will be at the demonstration as patron. The green party politician has long advocated for decriminalizing marijuana.

If the Global Marijuana March is in motion on the Haymarket downtown on May 9, Mayor Andreas Hupke is sure to be at the forefront. The green district politicians has long advocated for the decriminalization of hashish and marijuana - and has therefore assumed the role of patron for the protest. "For the first time since the founding of the Federal Republic a mayor supports a demonstration for the legalization of cannabis with his patronage," exults Willie Obst, local organizer of the annual international demonstration.
