Supervisors to talk marijuana, review CCVH regulation ordinance

EUREKA- It's all about marijuana at the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.

The California Cannabis Voice Humboldt proposed Land Use Ordinance will go before the supervisors during the afternoon session.

The group unveiled it's final version of the draft last Tuesday on the courthouse steps, something they've been working on since may of last year. The ordinance defines medical marijuana cultivation as agriculture, and outlines permit requirements per plant canopy size from under 600 square feet to more than 10 thousand. Cultivation would be allowed in any general agricultural use zones, including timber production zones. Cultivation would not be allowed within 30 feet of a parcel boundary or 600 feet from a school or bus stop, park, place of worship or Native American cultural site.
