The Colorado Board of Health made the right call Wednesday when it rejected a proposal to add post-traumatic stress disorder to the conditions that qualify for medical marijuana.

“It is very important patients become part of this discussion”, said Teri Robnett, director of the Cannabis Patients Alliance and member of the state’s advisory council. Although Colorado adults 21 and over with PTSD are allowed to self-medicate with recreational cannabis that they acquire through dispensaries or home-grows, they are unable to consult a doctor about the best way to treat themselves with it. Medical patients are allowed to possess twice as much marijuana – 2 ounces instead of 1 ounce.
