Three men from Great Britain have been arrested after raiding a local, legally licensed industrial hemp farm thinking they were snatching pounds of free pot. The three were arrested after a Facebook post detailed the location of a field packed full of wild-growing cannabis – only it wasn’t.
A “large number” of trespassers descended on the West Sussex hemp field after the erroneous post, which led people to believe the hills were alive with sweet, sticky buds.
Police found various forms of marijuana-related paraphernalia at the farm, where many of the intruders had attempted to smoke parts of the plant. Two sacks stuffed with the hemp were also found.
