Cannabinoids have anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties. They are known to block cancer cell growth, prevent the growth of blood vessels that supply tumors, and relieve muscle spasms caused by multiple sclerosis.
The National Cancer Institute suggests that cannabis be taken by mouth, inhaled, or sprayed under the tongue. A patient eligible to use the alternative medicine has to apply for a medical marijuana card before they are cleared to use the medicine, because the U.S Food and Drug Administration has not approved cannabis for the treatment of cancer or it’s side effects. After a doctor gives approval patients are then allowed to purchase their medicine from dispensaries.
