Marijuana weights: A handy guide to metric measurements

That rings pretty true. If you’re new to cannabis and you live in the United States, chances are you’re probably not familiar with the metric system — the measuring system used for marijuana (and most drugs).

Grams, eighths, quarters, ounces

An ounce of marijuana weighs 28 grams, right? Wrong. According to Google, 1 ounce actually weighs 28.3495 grams. But for marijuana purchases, it’s generally accepted that 1 ounce equals 28 grams.
