Vermont: New medical marijuana rules approved
Delivery of medical marijuana and hemp grown by dispensaries were among the rules approved Thursday by the Legislative Committee on Administrative Rules.
Approval of the rules come close to a pressing deadline. The committee's 45-day review period ends this coming Monday.
New this year are regulations that allow for the state's four dispensaries to grow hemp plants to be used for symptom relief and for the delivery marijuana products to patients on the Vermont Marijuana Registry.
Today's decision comes after nearly three months of discussion among the committee and the Department of Public Safety, which oversees the state's marijuana registry. Definitions have been clarified, including the meaning of "cannabis" and "marijuana related supplies," such as pipes and vaporizers, according to a copy of the proposed rules.
