Ohio voters will consider 2 weird and conflicting pot-related initiatives on Election Day

Is it time to toke in Ohio?

This Election Day, residents of the Buckeye State will be voting on two conflicting ballot initiatives relating to marijuana.

One — Issue 3 — would legalize marijuana, but only as a monopoly by certain investors. The other — Issue 2 — would illegalize such monopolies.

It’s not clear what will happen if they both pass.

Issue 3 got on the ballot as a result of the work of ResponsibleOhio, a political action committee backed by wealthy investors, including high profile names from William Taft descendent Woody Taft to former 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey to real estate developers to basketball player Oscar Robertson.
