A Dec. 8 hearing scheduled for the Florida Supreme Court to hear oral arguments for and against legalizing medical marijuana has been canceled.
The cancellation comes after Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi said she would not contest the proposed amendment as she did in 2013 prior to the amendment being on the ballot in 2014. She argued that the original amendment, which did not receive enough votes in November 2014 to become law, was not clear and would make Florida one of the most lenient medical-marijuana states.

This time around, though, the medical-marijuana amendment has new wording, including:
- The original amendment allowed five medical marijuana patients per caregiver, but now it says the Department of Health decides the number of patients per caregiver.
