With the legal marijuana industry starting to heat up in Chicago, a monthly cannabis meetup is launching to connect medical marijuana enthusiasts and give resources to budding entrepreneurs.
The Cannabis Technology Association, a trade organization that supports legal marijuana companies, is bringing its monthly Canna Tech meetup to Chicago starting Monday, December 7. The event, hosted at 1871, will feature presentations from Chicago cannabis startups and discuss how technology will play a role in the future of the medical marijuana industry.
Canna Tech comes to Chicago after launching monthly meetups in Denver and Seattle last year, and event organizer and Cannabis Technology Association board member Zach Marburger said 1,000 people showed up to the group's first meetup on Denver.
"We’ve had around 50 job placements throughout these meetups in Denver," Marburger said. "It's a place for people with a passion for cannabis and building technology...
