Facebook's Massive Marijuana Spam Problem

Facebook has a huge spam problem across their most popular cannabis-related pages and groups. It comes on two fronts.

First, every post from any major cannabis-related page will get a dozen spam comments offering to sell cannabis and often other drugs. The accounts they come from are obviously fake when you check them out, and all they do is post offers for weed sales.

Bizarrely, the phone numbers and email addresses they post don’t ever work or get a reply when you try to buy weed. So what the hell spammers? Why post offers for pot and then fail to reply when I offer you money?Screenshot 2016-02-06 14.57.38

Second, every day I have fake accounts trying to join the Facebook groups I moderate, to spam their clickbait news stories. Facebook tells me that many of these accounts have been active for over a year!...
