Granite State Relief: First Medical Cannabis Dispensary Opens in New Hampshire

On April 29, 2016, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services announced that it had issued the first dispensary registration certificate to Sanctuary ATC, a state-licensed alternative treatment center, to operate its medical cannabis dispensary in Plymouth.

One day later, on April 30, Sanctuary ATC held its grand opening and officially became the state’s first alternative treatment center to dispense medical cannabis to qualified patients and caregivers.

“When the Therapeutic Cannabis Program was established by the Legislature, it envisioned that people in New Hampshire suffering from serious medical conditions would be able to access therapeutic cannabis for relief. I am very pleased to announce that with the opening of the Sanctuary dispensary in Plymouth, that day has arrived,” said Jeffrey A. Meyers, DHHS Commissioner. “My thanks to the Therapeutic Cannabis Program staff and Sanctuary ATC for their tireless efforts in realizing this significant achievement on behalf of patients and caregivers.”
