America Now Has As Many Legal Cannabis Industry Workers As Librarians

Everyone wants to work in the legal cannabis industry - and, according to the latest numbers from the Marijuana Business Daily, and increasing number of people are living the dream.

It's estimated that cannabis-related companies now employ 100,000 to 150,000 part and full-time workers nationwide in dispensaries, cultivation facilities, concentrates companies, testing labs and other, ancillary firms. To arrive at that figure, Marijuana Business Daily looked at the number of registered marijuana businesses, and and the average number of employees in each type of business.

"To put these numbers in perspective," writes columnist Eli McVey, "the marijuana industry now employs approximately the same number of flight attendants in the country – or web developers, database administrators and librarians."

It's estimated that 58,000-88,000 workers are employed in firms that work directly with the plant - and that number is bound to grow if ballot measures pass to legalize marijuana for medical/recreational use this fall. ...
