“He always said, when he resigned, he would introduce me to Gladys Berejiklian, because he wants to continue to support Dan’s legacy,” Mrs Haslam told The Leader.

“He said to me ‘Lucy, that’s the only meeting I’ve requested with the new premier.’”

Mrs Haslam sent a message to the premier’s office asking that she watches Helen Kapalos’ documentary The Truth About Medical Marijuana on Sunday night.

“There’s so much to explain, and like they say, ‘a picture tells a thousand words’” Mrs Haslam said.

“It covers children with paediatric epilepsy, it covers Dan’s story.

“I hope and pray that she watches it, because that will give her a good understanding.”

Mrs Haslam said it would be chance to learn where the Premier stands on medical cannabis.

At a recent event, Mrs Haslam said she was asked what was Ms Berejiklian’s stance.

“Nobody really knows. So I guess I’ll understand a bit more about what her conceptions are,” she said.

“I’m hoping that she understands it’s not just about throwing about millions of dollars at clinical trials, because that really doesn’t help anyone in the short term.”
