Willie Nelson suggests Attorney General try marijuana

In response to Attorney General Jeff Sessions calling marijuana ‘slightly less awful’ than heroin, country legend Willie Nelson suggest he try it, to see if it were true.
Don’t Knock It Until You Try It
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Nelson responded to questions about Session’s stance on marijuana, the Trump presidency and the time he almost ran for office.
84-year old Nelson is an outspoken supporter of marijuana legalization. He has served on NORML’s advisory board, led celebrity fundraisers and has even been arrested for marijuana possession. His opinion of Session’s comment was straightforward and friendly, referring to Sessions as ‘Jeff’:
“I wonder if he’s tried both of them. I don’t think you can really make a statement like that unless you tried it all.”
Fighting for Marijuana.”
This isn’t the first time Nelson has made political comments about weed. In 2010, following his arrest for marijuana possession, Nelson formed the Tea-Pot party a political party dedicated to the legalization of marijuana.
“Tax it, regulate it and legalize it,” Willie explained in an interview with CelebStoner.com, “Why should the drug lords make all the money? Thousands of lives will be saved.”
Although the political party never made it mainstream, it did receive some celebrity sponsors. It also gained a decent size Facebook following. The page currently shares trending marijuana news to his fans.
Politics as Usual
When it came to Trump, Nelson was just as candid, suggesting that the business tycoon might be getting more than he bargained for:
“Well, I knew him back when he owned some casinos, and I worked for him. He always paid me. I had no problems at all. I think he’s stepped into a different world.”
Nelson explained, never quite suggesting he could not handle it. This also does not mean he plans to enter politics. Although Nelson still sells Willie Nelson for President bumper stickers, he insists that his political aspirations are over.
“I think you can do more with music than you can with arguments and politics. I think a song will reach more people than any other thing.”
