Celebrating the 20th Global Marijuana March Toronto

Toronto is fortunate to have two large cannabis events (420 & Global Marijuana March) each year that are free and open to the public. Over the years, each event became better known even though they have both faced opposition over the years. This past year, the organizers for 420 Toronto were forced to find a new public venue for the rally. Several years ago, those organizing the Global Marijuana March (formerly known as the Toronto Freedom Festival) were denied their permit to use Queens Park as a gathering place for the march.

Fortunately the tradition continued on without a proper permit for Queens Park. This was a minor set back as a stage for speakers, washrooms and food trucks were no longer allowed. The Cannabis Community took it upon themselves to fill this void. Every year lots of vendors are in attendance with products for sale before and after the march.

The event is rain or shine so make sure you keep your fingers crossed and dress for the weather. The event is scheduled to start at High Noon, with the march kicking off at 2pm. Following the march, there will be some time to relax and browse the vendors further before speeches start at 4pm in front of the southern Legislative Assembly of Ontario building at Queens Park. Speeches will be addressing the proposed legalization framework, and it is expected to hear from the leading industry influencers.

Following the great turn out for 420 at Nathan Phillip Square a couple weeks ago, we are expecting a large crowd for the 20th Global Marijuana March. Don’t forget that the event starts at High Noon and will be rain or shine. Looking forward to seeing you there!
