Long-awaited second-wave cannabis products such as vapes, edibles and concentrates will finally hit the shelves today at the Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS).

The Crown corporation is stocking almost 60 new cannabis-infused products when brick-and-mortar stores open their doors for the day. Ontario’s curious cannabis lovers without a local OCS, however, will have to take a road trip or wait until the products go on sale online on Jan. 1.

That said, they can check out a basic product preview here and an FAQ about their consumption here for the time being.

Ontario’s pot lovers are advised to act quickly if they want to sample OCS’s new wares, as the new stock is only expected to last for about a week.

“We expect products to sell out within the first week. But it will improve, week after week,” OCS chief of staff David Lobo stated at an event for media last week to show off the latest goods.

Examples of new products include edibles like gummies and chocolate bars ($7.50 to $16 for a max dose of 10 mg of THC), cookies, hard candies and tea bags; disposable vape pens ($20 to $80); cartridges and refillable liquid vape products ($29 to $125); and a variety of accessories such as dab rigs, concentrate storage containers, batteries and rehydrating stones ($2 to $170).

Ontarians interested in other infused products such as topicals ($15 to $55) and beverages ($4 to $10) will be waiting a little bit longer to partake, with the former not expected to be in stock until February or March, and the latter only slightly earlier.

While Ontario might is just starting to dip its toe in the Cannabis 2.0 pool, some provinces have already had access to the products at licensed stores for several weeks.

The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation has been swiftly selling out of (and restocking) its second-wave cannabis products since late December, while Alberta’s lift on its provincial prohibition on selling alcohol and cannabis products on Christmas Day led to a boost in sales for participating retailers.
