It's too soon for Canadian cannabis producers to put dollar figures on European markets on the cusp of legalizing recreational pot, according to an industry executive with experience on both sides of the Atlantic.

Deepak Anand is chief executive officer of Materia, a London-based processor and distributor of medical cannabis and CBD wellness products. The company spans the UK, Germany, Denmark, and Malta. CGC Stock Gained 30% in 5 Days: Will It Continue to Gain in 2022?

Canopy Growth Stock’s Prospects in 2022

History may not always repeat itself, but it does at the very least rhyme. Once again, marijuana stocks have begun to rally after being incorrectly devalued.

One of those marijuana stocks is Canopy Growth Corp (NYSE:CGC), perhaps the pot stock I’ve written about the most. CGC stock was one of the first marijuana stocks I began covering, and the company was always good for a headline-grabbing acquisition or new product announcement (or at least it used to be).

But Canopy Growth stock has fallen on hard times as of late.

10 Canadian cannabis stocks to watch in 2022

buildings forming maple leaf

After such a promising start to the year it’s safe to say that 2021 has been a bust for Canadian cannabis. Most names in the space now down by plenty, which seems to speak to the market’s skepticism about both growth prospects in the maturing industry and the current glut of pot product and pot companies trying to elbow their way into market share.

There are roughly two camps to the Canadian picture, the bigger players with billion-dollar market caps and then there’s the rest, which means medium-sized and smaller operations now trying to pull away market share from the larger operations.

Cannabis Operators In Canada Are Still Having Issues Obtaining Banking Resources Four Years Into Legalization

credit card payment

Although cannabis is legal at the federal level in Canada, main retail store owners are having trouble accessing basic financial services. These operators are unable to access simple services like opening checking accounts and we believe this aspect of the industry needs to change. (article available here)

The limited access to capital is stifling the growth of the Canadian cannabis sector and we are surprised that licensed businesses are facing this issue. One of the main issues with this problem is related to how it is supporting the growth of the black market in Canada.

Canada's legal weed industry needs innovation, not more regulation, say entrepreneurs

Despite his success, Samuel Gerges has a hard time even opening a business account.

“No bank will touch you, even if you’re just trying to buy a house,” says Gerges, owner of MaryJane’s Cannabis in Toronto.

Just weeks after Canada’s third anniversary of legal recreational cannabis, the country — particularly at the local level — is dealing with the realities of a post-legalization world.

The Weed Delivery Market Canada

A survey conducted, between 2018-2019, by the government determined that over 18% of Canadians regularly consumed cannabis-based products — including legalized CBD substances.

The medium annual spending, per capita, for CBD products in Canada, is over $1500. And, what’s an even more telling statistic, is that most Canadians like to purchase their product online.

That’s why weed delivery in Toronto is such a hot topic right now. In this article, we’re going to talk about online dispensaries and Toronto weed delivery trends.
