Choom™ (CSE: CHOO; OTCQB: CHOOF) is pleased to announce that on Friday, April 26, 2019 , the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (“AGCO”) issued a Retail Operator Licence to Lisa Bigioni , and issued a Retail Store Authorization for her Choom-branded cannabis store in Niagara Falls, Ontario , which is expected to open in May 2019 .

In accordance with the AGCO’s requirements, Ms. Bigioni, as a licensed operator, may finalize her store set-up, including ordering and receiving cannabis product and cannabis accessories into her store ahead of opening for business.

 The AGCO will also conduct a pre-opening inspection to ensure the store is ready to open for business and sell cannabis products to the public in accordance with all applicable regulations.

Ontario's government-run cannabis distributor has cancelled its tender for couriers to make same-day pot deliveries.

The provincial corporation tasked with the online sale and distribution of recreational cannabis posted a cancellation notice on Friday via the Ontario government's tender portal.

The Ontario Cannabis Retail Corporation, which conducts e-commerce as the Ontario Cannabis Store, did not cite a specific reason for why it decided not to proceed, and the OCS was not immediately available for comment.

The corporation first posted the tender in January, calling for "expedited same-day delivery" for OCS orders. The project was set to begin as early as March in the Greater Toronto Area.

Since the legalization of cannabis, companies and stores opt to produce and sell weed products to cater to a lot of users. This massive growth of producers is observable in different states including Oregon, which leads to the oversupply of cannabis.

At present, Oregon contains pot products that will take up to seven years for users to consume it. While it looks like a positive note, cannabis growers and companies see this event as a problem.

The issuing of a license to grow cannabis would be the closest to why it overproduces. Oregon state issued over 1000 licenses to different cultivators and companies as compared to Canada’s meager 138 producers.

Interest in the marijuana industry is heating up among investors, and for good reason. Since the year began, the very first tradable cannabis exchange-traded fund, the Horizons Marijuana Life Sciences ETF, has practically tripled the returns of the broad-based S&P 500, which is having a stellar year of its own.

Canadians should expect a long list of cannabis-infused edibles, concentrates and other products to hit store shelves in the coming months, which will significantly expand the scope of the legal marijuana market, according to sources directly familiar with the matter. 

The Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS) seeks to add as many as 17 new product types to its sales catalogue when the items become legal in Canada, according to a list provided to BNN Bloomberg by two sources familiar with the organization's plans.

One of the sources confirmed other provinces are looking to add a similar list of products.

While the province hosts only 11.6 per cent of Canada’s population, it accounted for 27.7 per cent of legal pot sales in 2018, states a study conducted by Arcview Market Research and BDS Analytics.

That discrepancy is far greater than any other province, including notoriously cannabis-friendly B.C. where revenue gleaned from legal pot sales lagged well behind its share of the national population.

“Total (Alberta) spending on legal cannabis reached $217 million in 2018, accounting for 28 per cent of total nationwide sales, more than twice its share of Canada’s population,” states the report.

“Alberta’s comparatively liberal regulatory regime suggests it will rank among the fastest-growing cannabis markets.”
