Joe Rogan Implies He Smoked Marijuana with Ronda Rousey

In case you missed it, (I certainly did) comedian, UFC color commentator and outspoken cannabis legalization advocate, Joe Rogan, implied (basically stated) that he and UFC champion Ronda Rousey consumed cannabis before her first appearance on his podcast back in 2011. The host of the Joe Rogan Experience recorded a podcast at the end of August with “Rowdy” Rousey and her coach Edmond Tarverdyan, following the champion’s brutally impressive victory over Bethe Correia at UFC 190 in Brazil.

A medical marijuana farm for Ohio?

A proposal to legalize marijuana in Ohio would create a medicinal-only pot farm just east of Columbus.(Photo: Gannett Ohio file)

COLUMBUS – Dr. Suresh Gupta ticked off a list of conditions that marijuana could help alleviate: nausea, cancer, glaucoma, HIV, post-traumatic stress disorder, irritable bowel syndrome.

“And chronic pain. I almost forgot that one, and I am a chronic pain doctor,” said Gupta, a Dayton physician who plans to open a 300,000 square-foot facility dedicated to growing medical marijuana in Pataskala, just east of Columbus.

That is, if voters approve Issue 3, which would legalize marijuana use for Ohioans older than 21 and create 10 marijuana-growing facilities across the state.

Ronda Rousey Takes Over Press Conference to Hammer the War on Marijuana

It was announced this week by the Nevada Athletic Commission that welterweight UFC fighter, Nick Diaz will be fined $165,000, and will be suspended for five years after testing positive for marijuana.

The government agency levied the ridiculous fine and multiple-year suspension, not because Diaz was cheating or using steroids, but because they found traces of a plant that grows out of the ground in his blood.

According to Sherdog.com:

The UFC welterweight failed just one of the three drug tests administered during a five-hour period on the night of the event. The two negative results came from the

Jail for Portsmouth man found with suitcase full of cannabis at Edinburgh Airport

A brazen drug smuggler has been jailed after he was caught trying to fly into
the UK with nothing but cannabis worth £110,000 in his suitcase.

Henry Alden, who is from Portsmouth, was stopped by Border Force officers as he stepped off a flight from Barcelona into Edinburgh Airport.

They searched the 20-year-old’s checked-in luggage and found nothing but 11 bags of herbal cannabis – weighing 12 kilos.

The only other belongings he had in his possession was a small plastic bag for hand luggage, containing clothes and a phone charger.

Alden, who had made several trips abroad in previous months, has now been jailed for three years and eight months.

In Photos: India's Holy Men Wash Away Their Sins

It is billed as the biggest gathering in the world. Every three years, millions of Hindus come together to bathe in a sacred river to wash away their sins.

The Kumbh Mela festival, which rotates between four different holy sites in India, is taking place over two months this year in the city of Nashik in the state of Maharashtra. Its name, which means "Pitcher Festival," comes from a Hindu myth about an epic battle in which gods and demons fought for nectar that would grant them immortality. The gods won — but during the ruckus, drops of the nectar spilled from the pitcher that was holding it, onto the four different locations which now host the festival.

What Does Marijuana Really Do to Sperm?

Smoking pot might lower your sperm count by up to roughly one-third, according to a study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology. Researchers at the University of Copenhagen surveyed 1,215 Danish men between the ages of 18 and 28, finding that those who reported using marijuana more than once a week had "quite a lot" less sperm than non-users.

Colorado's $70m in marijuana taxes proves legalized pot is big business

It seems as though Colorado is rolling in the green, thanks to legalized marijuana.

The state is enjoying a steady flow of dough (and presumably cookie dough sales) since it made pot legal for recreational use in 2012 – though it wasn’t distributed commercially until 2014.

Reports now show it’s been a good move for Colorado, which has racked in $70 million in marijuana taxes between July 2014 and June 2015. That’s significantly more than what the state’s alcohol-specific taxes brought in during the same time period – $42 million.

On Wednesday, Colorado showed its appreciation for pot users by instating a day long “tax holiday,” where the substance in its many forms could be purchased tax-free.

Countdown to recreational marijuana sales: What you need to know (Q&A)

In less than two weeks, Oregonians -- and any one else 21 and older -- will be able to walk into a marijuana shop and buy pot, the latest milestone in the state's long history with the drug.

Though the Oregon Liquor Control Commission doesn't plan to launch a regulated recreational market until late next year, the Legislature authorized medical marijuana dispensaries to sell to the recreational market starting Oct. 1. Until now, dispensaries served only medical marijuana patients and their caregivers. Starting next month, they will be able to sell to anyone with a government-issued ID that shows they are 21.
