If you're a fan of cannabis and a fan of kombucha, you'll be excited to hear that Calgary cannabis company, Zenabis has officially acquired a 51% stake in a True Buch, a Canadian kombucha company. In addition to this exciting news, the company has decided to release their own line of cannabis-infused kombucha drinks for Canadians to enjoy.

Kombucha and cannabis have been everywhere this year. Kombucha is a bubbly fermented beverage made out of tea elixir with Asian root and dates back nearly 2000 years. Filled with living probiotics, enzymes, and amino acids, this concoction is known by many to be the go-to healthy drink.

Soon, this superfood will be getting a millennial twist thanks to a recent partnership signed by True Buch and Zenabis Global Inc. The two companies are coming together in an exciting venture to serve a healthy cannabis concoction to Canadians across the country.

Zenabis Global Inc. is one of Canada’s largest cannabis companies known for selling, educating, and growing all things cannabis. The worldwide recognized company has recently signed a new partnership with the Calgary based kombucha making company True Buch.

This unique partnership will allow the companies to work together in their respective fields to create a widely accessible cannabis-infused bevy.

“We are excited to enter into this business arrangement with True Buch for several reasons, with the first among these the opportunity to leverage the expert management and operational expertise being contributed by each of our entrepreneurial teams,” said Andrew Grieve, CEO of Zenabis.

“Zenabis is moving rapidly to augment our existing recreational and medical cannabis product lines with the creation of a new consumer product portfolio, in anticipation of upcoming changes to regulations around the sale of cannabis-infused edibles.”

In addition to the 11 flavours of kombucha “going green,” they will also be gluten-free, non-GMO, raw and unpasteurized.

For now, there is no exact date as to when the drink will be available but according to the Cannabis Act, edibles like this one will be permitted for legal sale no later than Oct. 17, 2019.

Zenabis has yet to state when you'll be able to purchase the kombucha, however, the company has stated that as of January 28, 2019 Zenabis does have distribution relationships with government and third-party retailers and distributors in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Prince Edward Island, and the Yukon Territory. They will likely sell the kombucha cannabis drinks in those provinces across Canada.
