Seth Rogen, a Vancouver-born actor, and his fellow scriptwriter Even Goldberg are the founders of Houseplant. Houseplant recently announced that it would be bringing its unique marijuana products brand to Ontario this summer. At the moment, the brands’ products are only available in the two comedy film mogul’s B.C home province.
Houseplant’s cannabis is supplied by Canopy Growth Corp, which happens to be a Canadian industry giant. Houseplant sativa brand will be available for sale online and in Ontario regulated retail stores this summer.
In a statement, Rogen indicated that it is exhilarating to be able to grow the company and give Ontario residents access to the products they are proud of.
On its website, Houseplant highlighted that it plans to keep expanding nationally and often check its social media for updates. Rogen indicated their anticipation to keep sharing their special products to more and more people as they keep expanding across Canada.
Through Instagram, Houseplant also announced that it would be launching new strains dubbed Houseplant Indica, and Houseplant Hybrid, besides softgels and pre-rolled joints throughout the year.
In the release, Goldberg said that they decided to proceed with quantifiable growth and ensure that they do not compromise their product’s quality or disappoint their customers.
Houseplant’s Star Power, a Distinct Brand, Standout Despite Strict Regulations.
Canopy, which acquired 25% of Houseplant, has made partnerships with Martha Stewart, a TV personality, to produce CBD wellness products. The company has also partnered with rapper snoop dog to enhance the sale of cannabis products via its subsidiary Tweed.
However, the Canadian government has imposed hectic laws restricting cannabis companies from using celebrity endorsements. Canopy, as a result, has been careful to ensure that Rogen and its superstars don’t engage in direct promotion of cannabis-related events.
Since Goldberg and Rogen are the founders of Houseplant, they have remained as heads of business and have been cautious when presenting themselves as the brand’s spokespersons.
Houseplant has also come up with a distinct retro brand to distinguish itself and counter the strict packaging regulations of Canada, with weed products curated distinctively for each stain and vinyl record packaged, coming in VHS-style.
Houseplant also wants to focus on educating novice and expert cannabis users to consume cannabis safely and provide video posts with 70s-era info-commercial style to do so.
