While golfers are often viewed as conservative creatures, their appetite for CBD suggests they’re anything but.

Golf is a sport of fractions and fine margins and many things which boost performance are often voraciously adopted – so, when it comes to a month’s supply of CBD from Holland & Barrett at £30  it’s a lot cheaper than £1,000 set of clubs that may be jettisoned after a few weeks.

And, this CBD message is now permeating all levels of the sport with two times U.S Master champion Bubba Watson being one of the first to embrace it, reports Golf.com.

Two-Times Masters Champ

Watson, a 12 time PGA Tour winner, and self-diagnosed ADHD sufferer announced his partnership with North Carolina firm cbdMD, which sees him sporting its logo on his shirts.

“I’ve personally felt the benefits of cbdMD’s products,” said Watson who won the Masters in 2012 and 2104. “cbdMD is the safest on the market and I am proud to partner with them to help millions feel better.”

For those not-so-sprightly players, a supplement which can be seen to help ease those aching knees and backs is to be cherished. Now golf’s ‘Great White Shark’ Greg Norman is flying the flag for the older generations in partnership with Canadian firm Green Growth Brands.

The Great White Shark

The former World Number 1 last month announced the launch of a line of CBD products geared toward those who lead an active lifestyle. This collection features warm-up muscle rubs, cool-down gels, muscle soaks and face care products including an after-shave.

As someone who has golfed for over 40 years, ‘hitting millions of golf balls in  that time’ Australian Norman says he has witnessed the positive benefits of CBD. However those in charge of golf’s PGA Tour have been less than impressed with this CBD craze, reports The Golf Channel.

The Tour has waned players that due to haphazard testing and regulations not all CBD products can be guaranteed not to include THC. It recommends ensuring the credibility of a CBD supplier to ensure the 0.3% THC limit is not crossed.
