The man was also found to be in violation of a previous release order

A 36-year-old Toronto man is facing numerous charges after being caught with cash tied to the sales of cannabis and 39 grams of bud, reports CTV.

It’s not clear from a news release whether the cannabis was stamped or not.

The man was stopped by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Huntsville around 9:30 p.m.

The police seized the cash and cannabis and further investigation led to the discovery that the man was not complying with a previous release order.

Under the federal Cannabis Act, Canadians are allowed to carry up to 30 grams of dried cannabis, or equivalent, in public at any time.

Last year, another Toronto man was busted in the Huntsville region for running an illegal cannabis delivery service.

Officers allegedly observed the driver making several stops in the area before pulling the vehicle over.

Once stopped, officers seized nearly $10,000 worth of illicit cannabis products, ranging from flower and vape pens to edibles and hash, from inside the car. They also confiscated $530 in cash, a collapsible baton and a cellphone.

A 42-year-old man was charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and possession of a prohibited weapon.

It’s far from the first time that Southern Ontario residents have been busted for cannabis crimes up North.

Last month, two residents of the Greater Toronto Area were charged following a traffic stop near White River.

Members of the OPP were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) checkpoint on Highway 17 in Vasiloff Township when the vehicle entered the checkpoint.

A vehicle search led to the discovery of small quantities of suspected cannabis and cocaine as well as over $67,000 in currency.

The two men, aged 25 and 29, face numerous charges, including possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
