Tasting notes from Altai Brands gourmet medicinal marijuana chocolate session—without the munchies

Salinas' Altai Brands is looking to do cannabis edibles with rare ambition and sophistication. 

That much was clear in how they went about masterminding a bold business plan (check out "Pot Committed: Local food and wine personality dives into medical edibles with enthusiasm and a major project.") and securing a Salinas plant to craft the goodies ("Altai Brands readies to rock the medicinal and adult marijuana market from the heart of Salinas.")

But as they say, the proof is in the pot chocolates.

So we got our tastebuds on the entire lineup of red hots, "alt bars" and bon bons and took some tasting notes. 

Fortunately, they did something insiders tell me isn't common in the industry: virgin versions of the samples, so aspiring tasters like us don't wander off to stare at clouds rather than file this report.
