Federal agents are crawling all over legal pot in California

Federal agents have charged another person in connection with bribery inside the California medical cannabis industry.

Today, the Chronicle reports that the federal government has charged Oakland union official Dan Rush with accepting bribes or kickbacks to both help and hinder unionization efforts in the multi-billion industry.

Rush allegedly took a $600,000 loan from a dispensary he has yet to pay back. Officials allege that Rush began working off the loan by “provide various labor benefits to the (dispensary operator), including union support for opening dispensaries and reducing or eliminating pressure to unionize dispensary workers,” the complaint says.
