A numbered company authorized to grow medical marijuana is suing the District of Maple Ridge, claiming the municipality is wrongfully trying to recover costs associated with a police raid on the firm’s property in August 2013.

0920509 B.C. Ltd. filed a notice of civil claim in BC Supreme Court on August 4. According to the claim, the company was incorporated in September 2011 and bought two properties on Odell Street in June 2012. The company claims it had seven medical marijuana personal production licences issued by Health Canada allowing it to cultivate 1,147 plants and store more than 59,000 grams of pot.
