Milwaukee Cannabis Freedom Festival

Later this week, Wisconsin will serve as host to the Milwaukee Cannabis Freedom Festival. The festival is meant to celebrate recent marijuana legalization throughout the United States and to serve as a launch pad for this summer’s petition to legalize marijuana possession in Milwaukee. 

Organized by the Wisconsin chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), the Milwaukee Cannabis Freedom Festival will also feature a food drive, protest parade and live entertainment. The non-perishable food items collected for the food drive that will support the Wisconsin Hunger Task force. Last year’s event resulted in 800 pounds of food gathered and the goal is to surpass that this year.

The Cannabis Freedom Parade will begin at 3 pm and march down the sidewalk surrounding Gordon Park for 2.5 miles. Organizers are encouraging participants to bring signs and flags...
