Peter Miller began the arduous process of seeking a license to produce cannabis in Creemore, Ontario, in mid-2012. With a background in tech and commerce and a family with deep roots in the region’s agricultural community, the then 24-year-old Miller sought to bring these two worlds together with a high-tech, indoor cannabis production facility.

Although new to the world of cannabis production, Miller’s family is used to taking risks in agricultural enterprise. His uncle and aunt run the only single herd glass bottled jersey milk production in the country. Though Miller was apprehensive about approaching his family with the idea of retrofitting existing space on their farmland to grow medical marijuana, he was pleasantly surprised by their response. “My family viewed this as an entrepreneurial endeavor first and foremost and have been consistently supportive,” Miller says.
