Seniors on medical marijuana? Here’s why

America’s senior citizens have become a key demographic for the cannabis industry.

Seniors are a major swing vote for legalization, and senior ailments make them uniquely suited for the pain botanical. While just a tiny fraction of cannabis consumers are seniors, that number is surging as Baby Boomers retire. Every day, 10,000 Americans turn 65 years old.

Over in Berkeley, a retired Catholic school principle and mother of three, Sue Taylor, is teaching medical cannabis to seniors. Taylor is also certified by the State of California to teach the state’s medical marijuana program to senior care facility nurses and managers seeking continuing education credits.
