New study shows drugged driving on the rise

“The proportion with drugs in their system has increased over the past several years and now the level is about the same with alcohol in their systems”, says Dr. Jim Hedlund, author of the report.

A recent report from the Governors Highway Safety Association, an advocacy group that promotes traffic safety, has revealed that while the number of vehicle accidents caused by drunk drivers is falling, accidents caused by drivers who are under the influence of marijuana and other illegal drugs are on the rise.

Researchers through a new report have suggested that drivers are as likely to be high on pots or pills or other drugs as dunked on alcohol.
