SF Government Tries Again with Cannabis — Come Meet the City's Weed Deciders

A few years ago, with cannabis legalization supposedly around the corner, San Francisco city government tried to engage the local marijuana industry — then more commonly referred to as the medical cannabis "movement." 

A city supervisor created a 15-member "task force" for marijuana, one of dozens of task forces and commissions in San Francisco, and stocked it with dispensary owners, growers, and "patient advocates." 

It was a spectacular failure. Rife with personal disagreements and regular arguments, the Medical Cannabis Task Force was mercifully ended after a parliamentarian deadlock: so many members stopped attending meetings that the task force did not have a quorum.

Now, with the legalization of recreational cannabis for adults supposedly around corner, San Francisco city government is trying again to engage the local marijuana industry. Who might that be? You can meet them and ask them just that question tonight.
