With Jamaica in advanced stages of preparation for the possible legalisation of ganja, some forward thinking entrepreneurs are getting ready for the financial opportunities that will arise. Maurice Ellis and Richard Ramdial, owners of Sun Spice Seasonings Company Limited/IgadI Jamaica Limited - an all natural Jamaican line of seasonings, are on the brink of some exciting by-products made from cannabis.

In an interview with The Gleaner, Ellis said globally the trends in business start-up are focusing on the cannabis industry now, and Jamaica which already has a long history with the herb, is no exception. So, when all is ready, Ellis and Ramdial have begun working closely with other stakeholders including: the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), the Ministry of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining, the Scientific Research Council (SRC) and the National Neutraceutical Industry (NNI).
