Scientific Community Backs Epilepsy Studies Using Cannabis - The High Community (THC)

It’s been no secret between those in the cannabis community that this magical plant holds powerful benefits for people suffering from seizures, and now science is playing catch up.

U.S research is pointing to a mixture of pure cannabidiol (CBD) found in the plant and medical marijuana itself to treat severe epilepsy in children.

Several articles have been published in the journal Epilepsia a monthly professional point of reference on behalf of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE).

One of the case studies included is carried out by Dr Edward Maa, Chief of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Programme at Denver Health. It follows one mother’s experience of providing medical marijuana to her child who suffers from Dravet syndrome, an extreme and unpleasant form of epilepsy.
