Forbes Names First Cannabis Company in 30 Under 30

Ryan Smith, co-founder of LeafLink, is the first member of the cannabis industry to make annual list of young leaders.

Forbes named Ryan Smith, CEO and co-founder of Leaflink, one of its “30 Under 30” for Enterprise Tech on Monday.  The 25 year old is the first cannabis-focused entrepreneur to make the publication’s annual list, which names the “brightest young entrepreneurs, leaders, [and] stars”.

Smith believes this is a testament to the staying power of the young, but rapidly growing legal marijuana industry.  “Cannabis has gone mainstream.  We’ve seen that in the caliber of our investors, the capital flooding the industry and new legalizations expected in 2016,” Smith said. “To be included in Forbes is a great personal honor, but it’s also a statement that cannabis technology companies are now viewed as and competing on the same level as other groundbreaking tech startups."
