Final judgement On 6 April 2016, the Third Division of the Federal Administrative Court reached a landmark decision which is of crucial importance to cannabis patients: it issued a permit to a 52-year-old MS patient to grow cannabis at home. On 6 April 2016, the Third Division of the Federal Administrative Court reached a landmark decision which is of crucial importance to cannabis patients: Although the judgment is an individual decision, the judges have ordered the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) to issue a permit for a 52-year-old MS patient to grow cannabis at home. For the first time in Germany there will therefore be a permit for the cultivation of cannabis as part of, in the official wording, “medically assisted self-therapy with cannabis flowers.”
