Three Major U.S. States Poised To Legalize Recreational Cannabis in 2016

A new chart from the Marijuana Business Daily show that America's four states with legal, recreational marijuana markets are going to have some company this fall - especially if the poll numbers in three key states hold up.

There's especially strong support for recreational cannabis legalization in California, where voters support legalization by a solid 60 percent, according to a February poll by Probolsky Research. The main ballot initiative seems to be the one sponsored by Sean Parker, but there are also others being put forward like the one sponsored by Americans for Policy Reform.

From a public support perspective, Massachusetts and Michigan are also looking good with more than half - 53 percent of voters in each state - voicing support for legalizing recreational cannabis, according to a UMass Amherst study released in February and an EPIC-MRA poll performed in March.
