Cannabis Use May Lower Risk Of Metabolic Syndrome

A new study published in the journal Psychological Medicine suggests that marijuana may protect from metabolic syndrome, a health condition that is linked to heart disease and diabetes. Metabolic syndrome describes several health risk factors that are associated with heightened risks for heart disease and diabetes along with other health problems.

Health statistics show that more than one third of U.S. adults suffer from metabolic syndrome, which is a health condition that describes several risk factors that includes high blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol levels, high blood sugar and abdominal fat which are often lead indicators for heart disease and diabetes.
