Hunter S. Thompson's Personal Weed Strains May Soon Hit Dispensaries

The next best thing to smoking a joint with the late writer.

Hunter S. Thompson's everlasting influence will soon include a brand of cannabis under the "Gonzo" name, thanks to his widow, Anita Thompson.

According to the Aspen Times, Anita saved six different strains of her late husband's personal marijuana from which she (with the help of a cannabis company) will extract DNA and grow "authentic" strains for public sale. The product will be sold at dispensaries, and the proceeds will go to restoring the late writer's Owl Farm ranch, which Anita hopes to turn into a museum and writer's retreat.
