How Jane Technologies clears the smoke and mirrors to get cannabis companies online

cannabis bud

After serving as a helicopter pilot in the army for several years, Socrates Rosenfeld turned to cannabis as a sort of meditative medicine. And in 2014, as a McKinsey analyst studying “aggregators” like DoorDash, he saw an opportunity in the budding space.

Rosenfeld told Retail Brew he predicted that in a few years “the cannabis consumer will expect to shop online.” He reasoned that the experience should be as seamless as buying groceries or shoes—a digital world where you can read customer reviews that say which sneakers run a size small and which edible knocks you out—but the industry (and the law) wasn’t quite there yet.

Drinkables, edibles could lead future of cannabis industry

cannabis eddibles

What started with supply shortages and purchase limits has turned into an industry saturated with shops in a matter of less than three years.

Delta 9 CEO, John Arbuthnot, said recent data from Statistics Canada shows in-store cannabis sales have displaced roughly 50 per cent of black market sales.

Something he said was the goal of legalization in the first place.

“Obviously a significant milestone for the industry to not only have achieved the growth that it has over the first few years,” said Arbuthnot.

According to the province’s latest public accounts records, the number of stores are also on the rise.

- Sleeplessness. Night sweats. Anxiety. Irritability. Aches and pains.

Would smoking a little pot help women deal with these common symptoms of menopause?

A good number of middle-aged women apparently think so, because they've been turning to marijuana to help handle the change of life, a new study reports.

"Midlife women within the menopause transition period of their life are using cannabis, and they're using it for symptoms that tend to overlap with menopause," said lead researcher Katherine Babyn, a graduate student at the University of Alberta in Canada.
