Montreal has a brand new "weed" themed café

This café is lit!

If there is one thing, just one, that Montreal does right, I'd have to say its the coffee game.

I'd bet that most of you would probably agree, right? If not, that's cool too, your loss!

Montreal's café game is on point. Seriously, there are a good 6 independent café's within walking distance from my place, alone. It's usually not a question of there being a café nearby, but rather which café to go to.

Well, regardless of which Montreal borough you reside in, I have an answer that I'm sure you will find as intriguing as I do. Or maybe this one is a little more niche, but none the less - it is absolutely worth your consideration!

Cannabis Act: The Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador calls upon the Senate to ensure Canada respects its fiduciary obligations to First Nations

A few days away from the adoption of the Canadian Cannabis Act, the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador (AFNQL) considers that the Canadian Senate is the last hope for delaying its implementation. "Despite the Trudeau government's multiple commitments to First Nations, MĂ©tis and Inuit, it is clearly indifferent to its obligations, particularly in the area of consultation. With regard to the legalization of cannabis, this offloading leads us to call on the sensitivity of the members of the upper house to delay the implementation of the Act," says Ghislain Picard, Chief of the AFNQL.

Senate committee backs amendment giving provinces power to ban home-grown pot

A Senate committee has passed more than two dozen amendments to the federal government’s cannabis legalization bill, including one that would allow provinces and territories to ban home-grown marijuana.

But the social affairs committee has refused to accept an amendment that would have prohibited home cultivation outright.

Bill C-45 would allow individuals to grow up to five plants in a single dwelling.

But Quebec and Manitoba have decided to prohibit home cultivation, setting up future legal challenges in which Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould has said the federal legislation would prevail.

What will Quebec's government-run cannabis stores look like?

SAQ head Alain Brunet says clients will be able to buy behind-the-counter pot from extensively trained workers.

The head of Quebec's liquor board says even though there's still no official date for the legalization of cannabis, the SAQ will be ready to serve Quebecers in stores and online.

SAQ president and CEO Alain Brunet says the agency is in the process of figuring out where stores will be located —they can't be within 250 metres of an elementary or high school — and will soon be recruiting employees.

The SAQ will oversee the sale and distribution of marijuana, but the sales will be carried out by a separate entity: the Société Québécoise du Cannabis.

How Quebec could allow Home-Growing marijuana?

Home-Growing marijuana – The inevitable legalization of recreational marijuana in Canada has been bringing up more questions than answers since the Federal Government first introduced Bill C-45, the Cannabis Act, in the House of Commons in April of 2017. The third and final reading of the Bill by the Senate is expected no later than June 7th 2018, with Canada-wide legalization on July 1st 2018 – but there could be a delay of up to 2-3 months before legal weed is actually available for consumers.

Can MYM NUTRACEUTICALS ORD (OTCMKTS:MYMMF) become the next big player in the Canadian cannabis patch?

One stock that has been in bounce mode in recent action is MYM NUTRACEUTICALS ORD (OTCMKTS:MYMMF). The jump comes in the wake of the stock’s break down through a key support level last week. This is a very interesting pre-revenue player in the Canadian cannabis patch. The company is working with a strong balance sheet and looking to establish larger scale operations, meaning that the essential work here is as much about regulatory issues as anything else.
