CannLabs' StrainData Positions It To Be The Most Powerful Player In The Space

  • CANL's StrainData platform furthers the narrative that CANL is so much more than an analytics company.
  • CANL is now positioned to force at least some participation with it on the testing side with what should be quickly growing StrainData key metrics.
  • Acting as the "Google" of its space with StrainData CANL now has a completely vertical operation - something that historically has meant huge power across industries.
  • I continue to be bullish CANL on all durations.

CannLabs Inc.'s (OTCQB:CANL) StrainData platform is yet another reason to be bullish this under the radar company.

News of Surna Exec’s Departure Triggers Stock Slide

Shares of Surna Inc. have dipped since the company announced that its high-profile CEO Tom Bollich will step down, continuing a longer stock slide that began a year ago.

The cannabis cultivation technology firm said last week that Bollich will depart April 14 as the company moves from a startup to a more mature operation.

Bollich co-founded the online gaming company Zynga, which created the hugely popular FarmVille series, before eventually joining Surna in March 2014.

His arrival helped send Surna’s stock soaring from around $2 to more than $7 in a matter of days, as investors welcomed the news of a mainstream, proven business veteran leading the company.

PharmaCann gets latest Illinois license to grow medical marijuana

Ilinois regulators Monday awarded a medical marijuana growing license to PharmaCann LLC, to replace a firm that gave up its license in the northwestern part of the state.

The approval means that PharmaCann, based in Oak Park, has won approval for two grow centers and four dispensaries statewide, more than any other business in the state.

Green Thumb Industries LLC gave up its license to grow marijuana in Dixon last week after it didn't come up with the required $2 million surety bond or escrow account and the $200,000 permit fee. Local officials said Green Thumb, which also has licenses to operate two other grow centers, expressed concerns about the cost of the license while only about 1,000 patients have been approved to get medical marijuana.

Washington state cannabis retailer opens in defiance of county ban

Sealed bags of marijuana dangle behind a counter, curved glass pipes glimmer on shelves, and a steady trickle of middle-aged customers gleefully buys cannabis strains nicknamed Charlie Sheen and Godzilla.

"The Gallery" is similar to more than 100 other lawful state-licensed marijuana retail shops and hundreds of medical dispensaries in Washington state, with one exception: It is operating in defiance of local law.

Its opening on Sunday set up a potential showdown with authorities in Pierce County, about an hour outside Seattle, which has effectively banned recreational pot shops in unincorporated areas so long as the drug remains illegal under federal law, even as medical pot businesses flourish virtually unregulated.

Former Denver Bronco Nate Jackson Calls For NFL To Allow Marijuana

DENVER (AP) – Former Broncos tight end Nate Jackson says he believes the NFL will have no choice but to remove marijuana from its lists of banned substances in the near future.

Speaking at a marijuana business conference, Jackson called on the league to allow medical marijuana as a means to help players deal with the physical and psychological pain and head injuries inherent to their profession.

Jackson said he avoided opiate painkillers as much as he could during his six-year career from 2003-08. Instead, he self-medicated with marijuana so that he wouldn’t retire addicted to prescription drugs like so many of his contemporaries, he said.

The Workplace Wellness Debate: Should Employers Adopt These Programs?

Full-time employees in the U.S. work approximately 1,700 hours per year. With so much time spent at the daily grind, healthy habits can often fall by the wayside. To combat this, more than 90% of large employers and 73% of small employers sponsor wellness initiatives in the workplace.

For many employers, these programs promise savings in the face of rising heath care costs, and for their employees, the opportunity to start or maintain healthy behaviors such as working out, getting flu shots and screening for high blood pressure.

Cannabis ice cream? How legalizing marijuana is changing business

With recreational marijuana now legal in four states and Washington D.C., entrepreneurs are beginning to think about how to capitalize on this new market.

But cannabis ice cream?

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, founders of the Vermont-based Ben & Jerry's ice cream company, said in an interview with HuffPost Live that while there are no current plans to explore marijuana-infused ice cream, its legalization does open the door for future exploration.

"Makes sense to me," co-founder Benjamin Cohen told HuffPost Live host Alyona Minkovski. "Combine your pleasures."
