You Don't Have To Raise Funds To Make It Big In The Cannabis Industry

One of the many ongoing dilemmas that young entrepreneurs with a new business face is acquiring the startup capital to make an impact in their respective industries.

Cannabis is no different.

We’ve seen many dominant industry players fall to the mercy of its investors and advisory boards. Bootstrapping your way to success can certainly take longer, but depending on your vision and goals, it may pose to be the most viable option. Cannabis candy maker in Edmonton area hopes to be Willy Wonka of weed

If you like green gummies, the lime-flavoured ones, then a new factory out in Nisku is a little slice of heaven.

These, though, will have an added kick. They are cannabis edibles infused with either CBD or THC, the active chemicals in marijuana — THC for recreational users and the CBD for its health and wellness properties.

Dynaleo believes it can produce more edible gummies than anyone else in Canada, and that there will be a shortfall in the industry of about 85 million of the edibles each year.

They say when their plant hits capacity it could produce 400 million of them a year.

Brick & Order - The Pandemic Transforms Cannabis Shops Into E-Commerce Hubs

The gigantic Planet 13 dispensary in Las Vegas was conceived as a tourist destination as much as a store.

It calls its 112,000-square-foot facility a “Cannabis Entertainment Complex,” offering “an unparalleled customer experience focused on unique interactive entertainment.” These include laser-light displays, electronic lotus flowers controlled by customers and an “aerial orb show.”  And — oh, yeah — you can buy weed there, too. The web site also telegraphs Planet 13’s ambition “to operate ultra-high-end dispensaries in tier-one markets nationwide.”

Ontario's private pot shops upset about giving up delivery and curbside pickup

Ontario's private cannabis stores will have to give up offering delivery and curbside pickup next week — and they're not happy about it.

The stores were allowed to start offering both services in April under a temporary emergency order the Ontario government issued during the COVID-19 pandemic.

While the province is working on extending its state of emergency until July 24, orders that allowed delivery and curbside pickup won't continue.

"Thirty per cent of my business is curbside, so it certainly will impact us in a negative way," said Helene Vassos, the owner of two Canvas Cannabis stores in the Danforth and Mount Dennis neighbourhoods of Toronto.
