Medical marijuana shops are everywhere.

Even the police are amazed by what they see.

"It's really easy to get,” he says. “If you want it, go ahead pay someone extra, go in there get it for you."

Thanks to a loophole in Michigan’s medical marijuana act, the number of shops has exploded. There are 211 in the city. Not many in the suburbs. And get this – just 97 public schools in Detroit.

Councilman Scott Benson is one of many fighting for tougher regulations.

Minister of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining, Hon. Phillip Paulwell, is encouraging Jamaicans to prepare to take advantage of the economic benefits to be derived from the ganja industry.

He said licences will shortly be issued to farmers for the legal cultivation of ganja, and plans are in place to expand research and development.

“In April to May of this year, we will be expanding that facility to enable full commercialisation for those of you who want to get into the thing properly and legally…,” Minister Paulwell said.

Iowa State University administrators are appealing a federal judge's ruling that they violated the free speech rights of student members of a pro-marijuana group by barring them from using the university logos on T-shirts.

Attorneys for ISU President Steven Leath, Senior Vice President Warren Madden and two other administrators notified the court Wednesday of their appeal to the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

U.S. District Judge James Gritzner had issued an order on Jan. 22 granting members of the ISU chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws a permanent injunction blocking university administrators from using a trademark policy to prevent the group from printing shirts depicting the school mascot and a marijuana leaf.

Bernie Sanders’ proposal to deschedule marijuana just got a big endorsement: former Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders.

“I certainly would support” it, Dr. Elders told Marijuana Politics on Saturday. “You know, we don’t have cigarettes [in the Controlled Substances Act]. We don’t have alcohol on it,” she added, “So I think that marijuana should be removed and studied and looked at.” Dr. Joycelyn Elders was in San Francisco for the International Cannabis Business Conference where she delivered a keynote address on marijuana reform.

Jeb Bush goes heavy on the pot propaganda at GOP town hall.

Thursday during CNN’s GOP town hall, Jeb Bush decided it was a good time to claim his place as the new reefer madness candidate — now that Chris Christie is out of the Republican primary and all.

Bush railed into “the devastating nature of marijuana,” and the “impacts it has on productivity … and brain damage.”

“The potency of this generation’s marijuana … it has serious neurological impacts,” he said. “And yet it’s laughed off because culturally, that’s an obsolete problem. Well, it’s not.”

The bill, scheduled for its first hearing Friday, would prompt Colorado’s department of agriculture to make certification rules for pesticide-free cannabis

Colorado marijuana consumers will be able to buy pesticide-free, “certified organic” weed if lawmakers pass a new bill aimed at creating special labels for the state’s legal cannabis industry.

“This is going to be the Whole Foods version of cannabis,” said Jonathan Singer, a Democratic state representative sponsoring legislation to establish state-approved organic pot. “This is just the next natural step in making sure marijuana is treated similar to alcohol. We’ve got organic beer and organic wine.”

Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge has approved a proposed constitutional amendment to legalize marijuana in Arkansas.

Rutledge approved the proposed constitutional amendment titled, "The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment of 2016" that was submitted by Little Rock lawyer David Couch.

Now that the proposal has been certified, supporters can work to gather the nearly 85,000 signatures from registered voters required to qualify for the November ballot.

Rutledge had previously rejected five marijuana proposals in the last five months citing issues of ambiguities.
