Does Colorado have control of its marijuana supply chain?

The Colorado experiment in legal marijuana is being watched around the country. That’s hardly surprising. The state, being the first in the country to legalize marijuana, is setting the standard for the management and control of this social experiment.

It’s not an easy task, and it will take time and many false starts and failures to create a smooth, reliable system with which to administer and manage the legal sale and use of marijuana.

One can argue that it was a bad decision, but the fact is voters of Colorado said marijuana use will be legal in this state.

Man angry about annoying alerts from marijuana dispensary

DENVER -- Colorado's restrictions on marijuana advertising are aimed at protecting impressionable children. A local man said the laws are failing and the loopholes are easy to work around.

Greenfield is now serving dabble extracts,” Scott Carlson, of Aurora, reads a text message his wife received more than a month ago.

“We have two grams of pure fire wax $45,” he reads from his phone.

He said he was surprised to learn it came from a Denver-based marijuana shop they've never been to.

“We don`t know how they got the number,” he said.

Carlson and his wife replied to the message, STOP, as instructed in the text to be taken off the mass text database.

The creed includes weed for these Colorado Christians

As snow began to fall outside, Deb Button snuggled up on her couch, fired up a joint and spoke of the nature of Christ.

"Even if Jesus didn't smoke weed, he'd still be a stoner," she said, exhaling a white cloud.

Her kitten sniffed the air curiously.

"Jesus was peaceful and loving. He went from house to house and was always accepted," she explained. "Only a stoner could do that."

Pesticides use in marijuana grows addressed in Colorado Legislature

Bill would create a list of acceptable products for growers to use

DENVER – Colorado lawmakers on Thursday began addressing a growing marijuana pesticides problem, with legislation that would identify acceptable products to use.

The issue became a public concern in March 2015 after more than 100,000 plants were quarantined by the city of Denver because of pesticide concerns. Since then, the issue has proliferated, much like the budding industry itself.

Lawmakers equate the issue to “growing pains,” suggesting that there is still much to address in terms of the unintended results of legalization, which voters approved in 2012.

A Major Problem With Colorado's Marijuana Economy Emerged After Weed Went Legal

Something's rotten in Denver, and it's not the pungent stench of burnt cannabis filling the air. As Colorado's legal weed party barrels full tilt into its third year, the laws governing the state's medical and recreational marijuana businesses still haven't reckoned with the ugly racial disparities at their core.

Federal Judge Dismisses Colorado RICO Case

There is now a stronger arsenal available to those states working to bring down the scourge of marijuana prohibition in their neck of the woods. Earlier last week, a federal judge dismissed the charges against Pueblo County and a legion of Colorado officials in a lawsuit suggesting that marijuana legalization violated a number of statutes overseen by the thugs in the District of Columbia.

Although the case does not appear to have national implications, the outcome should provide some level of solace for other regions of the United States wishing to reform their pot laws without the risk of being litigiously accosted by a ministry of naysayers.
