Here is our week’s roundup of the most remarkable developments on the state of cannabis in America, including: Cannabis-infused coffee, celebrity-branded cannabis and a charity that will help patients get high.

#1 Now Serving Cannabis Coffee, but will Road Accidents Increase?

Brewbudz, a company in San Diego, is planning to sell single-serve coffee pods infused with cannabis to help people start their day with a bang.

The coffee pods will come in two different varieties: one recreational and another medical. The recreational pod will contain 10 milligrams of THC while the medical pod will contain 50 milligrams.

There could be significant risk involved in drinking cannabis-infused coffee first thing in the morning.

Rich and Kim Muszynski know when their 5-year-old daughter, Abby, is about to have a grand mal seizure because her pupils enlarge, and she'll seem to fixate at something in the distance that only she can see.

Kevin Sabet, an ex-presidential drug policy adviser who is now leading the national anti-legalization association Smart Approaches to Marijuana, said, "We'd like [Trump] to enforce the law".

Real estate speculators stake out territories for what’s to come, infrastructure builders and lawyers queue up for business, investors jostle to get in on the ground floor, and tech startups seek ways to make a new industry run more efficiently.

This could be any nascent industry, but in this case it’s marijuana.

It started at the best of times in what was then one of the worst states for cannabis legalization. The exuberance of the chase to get Florida’s Amendment 2 on the ballot in 2014 and the confirmation of the polls of more than 70 percent support. Then the epoch of disbelief, as Amendment #2 failed to get the much needed 60 percent of the vote, left medical cannabis activists Kathleen Isoldi and Candice A. Marschke incredulous. 

Hey, Arkansas, California, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada and North Dakota, you just adopted some new marijuana laws.

Unless you were living under a rock this week, then you are aware that the number of legal states in America doubled after the election. The states that legalized were of course California, Nevada, Massachusetts, and Maine. According to the most recent census numbers, those states have a combined population of 49,714,000 people, with California of course making up the bulk of the statistic (38.8 million people live in California).

One in five Americans can now use marijuana legally.

Seven states legalized marijuana in some form on Election Day. California, Maine, Massachusetts, and Nevada showed up to support recreational marijuana, while Arkansas, Florida, and North Dakota passed ballot initiatives legalizing medical marijuana.

Here’s an interesting one. Bang Holdings Corp (OTCMKTS:BXNG) is a Florida based electronic cigarette company (according to its news media outlet bios) that develops, distributes and retails e-cigarettes and vaporizers. Forget that, for now, however.

What the company really does, and what its focus revenue driver going forward will be, is cannabis related advertising and marketing services. Through its Bang Digital Media brand, the company is aiming to capitalize on the marketing requirements of the burgeoning recreational cannabis space.
