Study Shows What You Eat Changes the Effects of Cannabis

Cannabis and food go together better than many other things in life.

Most cannabis consumers and patients will be quick to point out that cannabis stimulates appetite and that consuming cannabis prior to eating often makes meals and snacks more enjoyable.

Less attention is paid to eating food prior to cannabis consumption, and what impact, if any, it can have on the cannabis consumption experience and the effects of cannabis on the consumer/patient.

A new study out of Canada explored the idea and what they found could have a major impact on consumer and patient consumption habits and strategies.

The Keys to Cannabis Retail in an Internet-Driven World

The world of retail is changing rapidly. In the past couple of decades, the term “going shopping” alone has changed. It can now mean everything from driving to a shopping center to scrolling through Amazon to exploring the Facebook Marketplace. The dawn of online shopping has been an incredible strain on the world of retail, with malls becoming ghost towns and giant shops relegated to serving as Halloween stores once a year. The statistics back this up as well, with MSNBC reporting in April 2019 that online U.S. retail sales have eclipsed that of general retail for the very first time. Clearly, online shopping (once thought to be a passing phase) has changed the business landscape.

Cannabinoids and Inflammation: What Does the Current Research Say?

Is inflammation a cause for concern? Perhaps not in the short run, but…

Whenever we get infected, injured, or in other words, whenever there is a problem inside or on the body, our immune system sends hordes of white blood cells to protect the area, remove any harmful pathogens, and kick-start the healing process.

If the infection heals quickly, we’re OK. However, if the inflammation persists for a long time, the consequences can be devastating. Not only does it cause our immune function to go down, but chronic inflammation also accelerates the aging process.

Aluminum Cans May Reduce the Potency of Cannabis Beverages

According to scientists, the lining on aluminum cans has the potential to diminish the potency of substances like tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). In an interview with Yahoo! Finance Canada, Harold Han, who is the founder and chief science officer of Vertosa, a company that creates active ingredients for infused products, says the theory is that "the cannabis material, the droplets, will stick to the liner and cling on it. When you open the can to take a drink, it will lose its potency."
